Who We Are
Faculty at Live Oak School are selected for the effectiveness of their practice and their commitment to the continued development of their craft. We rely heavily on our teachers' expertise as they develop curricular experiences that respond to students' interests, abilities, and learning styles. Our faculty are exceptional role models for our students as they approach their work with enthusiasm, creativity, and curiosity.
Professional Development at Live Oak
Faculty at Live Oak take advantage of a community that places professional development in high regard. In-Service days and regularly scheduled meetings allow faculty to share expertise with their colleagues and to learn together about school-wide initiatives. Faculty attend professional workshops and conferences throughout the academic year and in the summer months that are chosen to meet their individual professional growth needs. Live Oak Faculty are active participants and contributors with local professional groups such as the Bay Area Teacher Training Institute, California Association of Independent Schools and the Bay Area Teacher Development Collaborative.
