Auction

Benefiting the tuition assistance program, an evening featuring a silent auction, a live auction and dinner by a renowned chef is Live Oak's biggest fundraiser.

Assemblies

Class-led weekly Lower School and Middle School assemblies give students an opportunity to share learning and school news. Parents are always invited.

Bagels and Chatter

This informal parent gathering, held in the Grand Hall, occurs after drop-off on designated days throughout the school year.

BBQ Bingo

This family event features dinner, many rousing games of bingo (we play until everyone wins), and a toy prize exchange.

Book Fair

The Book Fair invites parents and students to support the Live Oak library collection by purchasing books, both for their own reading and as gifts to the school.

Camp Live Oak

The school year culminates in a three-day outdoor learning experience at the YMCA's Camp Jones Gulch near Pescadero. For more about camp see Academics > Camp Live Oak

Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) Day

The entire school Drops Everything And Reads for a day. Kids come in their pajamas (the youngest with stuffed animals in tow), and participate in special assemblies and activities focused on reading.

Drop Everything And Write (DEAW) Day

The entire school Drops Everything And Writes stories, poetry and screenplays for a day. Special assemblies celebrate writers and writing that inspires student work.

Displayed in the Grand Hall, Live Oak's annual family portraits keep community in focus.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day

Preceding the Thanksgiving break, grandparents and special friends are invited for a daytime school visit and special activities.

Halloween

Live Oak celebrates Halloween with gusto. Students come in costume, deliver treats to local businesses, parade around the school and run an after-school haunted house.

Live Oak at the Giants

Students and families bond over a seasonal evening of baseball.

Live Oak on Ice

Live Oak students and families gather for a December evening of ice skating and hot chocolate.

Symphony

Students and faculty in Kindergarten through third grades dress up and attend a special educational performance by the San Francisco Symphony.
