JV Volleyball Earns a Shot at the Title

The Lightning volleyball season concluded in exciting fashion with both seventh grade JV teams squaring off against one another in the playoff semifinals, followed by the seventh grade White squad playing for the SFAL championship. Read below for the final results of the season.
In the semifinal contest, Maya and Toby got the JV White team out to a fast start with their strong serving to win the first set. The JV Green team rallied in the second set behind some nice serving from Sasha to push the game to a third set. Both teams played well in the third set and made some impressive rallies. In the end, the JV White team pulled ahead and took the match 25-8, 21-25, 15-9. Congratulations to the JV Green team, and their coach Jackie, on a fantastic season and for all their hard work and dedication!

Meanwhile, the JV White advanced to play Burke’s in the title game this past Friday. The Lightning worked hard from the start, but Burke's set the tone with some solid passing to take the first set. Maya, Toby and Zeina got their serves going in the second set, but in the end, Burke's continued their strong passing and hitting to take the match in straight sets. It was an amazing season for the Live Oak JV White team, led by coach Karen, and they should feel proud of their hard work and dedication. Go Lightning!
