Rainbow Kids Affinity Grove
We don’t need rain to have rainbows. The Rainbow Kids Grove is an affinity space for students in K-5 who identify as gender expansive, gender creative, transgender, and non-binary. We also welcome our friends who may be exploring their gender identity. In this group, students will gather to build community, explore identity, and celebrate gender diversity. We will do this through games, art activities, and good old hanging out. We are excited to continue the Rainbow Kids Group this year.
Rainbow Kids will meet monthly on Tuesdays from 3:15-4pm in the ChangeMaker Lab. No sign up is required, but we welcome a heads up if your student is planning to attend. Meeting dates are listed below; students may choose from month-to-month if they’d like to attend. We are excited to continue this group!
Lower School Students of Color Affinity Grove brings together self-identified students of color in kindergarten through fifth grade for community building, explorations of identity and culture, and playful activities that celebrate diversity. This year marks the 13th year of this group, and over that time we experienced countless joyful connections, thoughtful conversations, and, of course, an abundance of delicious snacks.
Our monthly gatherings will alternate on Mondays and Tuesdays, and be a space for students of color to see themselves reflected around the room while engaging in activities that encourage positive identity development, build strong connections, and celebrate a variety of cultures and identities. Affinity Grove does not require a sign up and students can decide from month to month if they are interested in attending. All meetings will take place from 3:15-4pm. Meeting dates are listed below and on the school calendar. We are looking forward to welcoming back lots of familiar faces and many new ones, including new teachers who are joining in the fun!
