Lightning Futsal Keeps Up Strong Play

The Lightning JV and varsity futsal teams were in action this past week. They are getting towards their last couple weeks of the regular season. Highlighting the play so far are the varsity girls, who are currently 5-0. Five of Live Oak's six futsal teams have winning records with a couple more games to play. Read below for the most recent results. 
Tavis and Coleman led their respective teams with three goals each in a game that ended in a dramatic 5-5 tie between the two Lightning varsity boys teams. The seventh grade boys Varsity Green followed that up by pulling ahead in the final minutes in a back-and-forth game to secure a tough 12-10 victory against KIPP SF. In boys JV action, Jude tied it up and Dante put in the go-ahead goal in the final minute to lift the sixth grade boys JV White to a 8-7 win over KIPP SF. 

On the girls side, Malia scored one goal as the JV girls fell to a formidable opponent in CAIS 7. They bounced back with a 8-3 win over CAIS 6 as Aya, Laina and Maya all put home two goals apiece to help the JV girls secure their third win of the season. Finally, Ailey and Shoshi led the way with three goals each to help the varsity girls top The San Francisco School 10-2. Chloe, Genevieve, Lily and Nadine also scored as the varsity girls improved to 5-0.
