Auditions for The Princess and the Pea

Live Oak’s performers and crew are getting started on the spring production, The Princess and the Pea, which will play March 14-16. Seventh and eighth graders interested in auditioning will need to sign up by Tuesday, December 17 at 6pm. Auditions will be Wednesday, December 18 and Thursday, December 19 after school until 5:30pm in the Cave.
The Princess and the Pea by Hans Christian Andersen is about a princess whose true identity must be proven through a series of tests. In our reimagined tale, the royal family is desperate to find a match for their unwilling prince and hope she’s “the one” for him. Anxious wedding planners, dancing trolls and over-zealous castle guards inhabit this whacky castle. Will the “princess” pass her tests? What’s the deal with “the pea?” And what in the world is the “Royal Booty Dance?” All will be revealed in this silly and sweet tale that encourages us to be proud of our uniqueness and celebrate each other’s quirks.
